VoiceMerge is built so that the default path sends nothing anywhere. This page says exactly what leaves your device, when, and why.

Audio

Your microphone audio (and on the Mac, optionally the audio the computer plays during a meeting) is processed on the device. It is turned into text by a speech model that runs locally. Audio is never uploaded to VoiceMerge or to any AI provider. It is not stored unless you start a meeting recording, in which case the recording stays in a folder on your device that you control.

Text

On-device intelligence (default): the transcript is cleaned up by a model on your device. Nothing is sent.

Your own API keys: if you enter an Anthropic, OpenAI or Groq key, the text of a request (the transcript, plus the instruction for that mode) goes directly from your device to that provider under your account and their privacy terms. The key is stored in your device's Keychain. VoiceMerge never sees it.

VoiceMerge credits: if you sign in and use credits, the text of a request goes to our service at api.voicemerge.app, which forwards it to Anthropic's API and returns the result. Requests are sent under Anthropic's commercial API terms, which do not permit training on your content. We log the token counts, the model, the purpose (for example "clean" or "distill") and the cost of each request so you can see your ledger; we do not store the text of your requests or responses.

Screen context (the active window title and selected text on the Mac, if you turn that option on) is only ever used by on-device models. It is never sent to any provider, including ours.

History

Dictations are kept in a local history database on your device so you can search, re-clean or copy them. You can delete entries, delete everything, or turn history off. It is never synced or uploaded.

Account

An account is only needed for VoiceMerge credits. We use Sign in with Apple, and we store the stable identifier Apple gives us for your account, the email Apple relays (which may be a private relay address), your credit balance, your ledger, and your purchases. We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers or tracking of any kind.

Payments

Purchases in the app are handled by Apple; we receive a signed receipt and never see your payment details. Purchases on the web are handled by Stripe; we receive a customer identifier and the outcome of the payment. If you turn on auto-refill, Stripe keeps a saved payment method for that purpose, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or on the credits page.

Task destinations

If you connect Reminders, Obsidian, Microsoft To Do, ClickUp or Notion, tasks you choose to send go directly from your device to that service using the credentials you provided. VoiceMerge does not proxy or see them.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app removes local data. To delete your VoiceMerge account and ledger, use Delete Account in the app's Account settings or write to [email protected]. Unused credits are not refundable except as required by law or by Apple's policies.

Children

VoiceMerge is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will point you here.
